Obstacle Course Races in Minnesota

An OCR combines running with physical obstacles like walls, rope climbs, mud pits, and carries. Popular OCR brands include Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, and HYROX. Events range from 3 miles to marathon distance.

HYROX is the fastest-growing fitness race format, combining 8 x 1km running segments with 8 functional fitness stations (sled push, rowing, burpees, etc.). Events are held indoors at convention centers in major cities. Find HYROX events on RACE.

Spartan Race is timed and competitive with mandatory obstacle completion. Tough Mudder is team-focused with no timing and optional obstacles. Spartan offers Sprint (5K), Super (10K), and Beast (21K) distances.

Most OCR events welcome all fitness levels. Many obstacles have bypass options for beginners. A base of running fitness and some upper body strength is helpful, but thousands of first-timers complete these events every weekend.
